Rekenboek Meer Oefenen Rekenen, front cover. More Practice Math. Leer beter en sneller te rekenen door veel te oefenen.

About the book

More Practice Math is a book that strengthens children’s math skills through numerous exercises and worked out examples. It covers four core topics—unit conversion, ratio tables, fractions, and percentages—and helps build a strong mathematical foundation.

Chapter 1. Conversion of units

In this chapter you will practice how to convert some of the most commonly used physical quantities such as: distance, surface area, volume, and weight. For example, going from meters (m)
to kilometres (km), grams (g) to milligrams (mg) or square meters (m2) to square kilometre (km2). You will encounter these physical quantities and units more frequently in daily life; therefore, it is important to put a lot of effort in practicing how to convert them.

Chapter 2. Ratio tables

In this chapter you will learn about ratio tables and why they are so useful. They are often used for calculations involving prices or weights. Ratio tables always contain two subjects that are
linked to each other. This chapter really is about paying close attention to information given in a piece of text, understanding where to place this information in a ratio table and perform calculations.

Chapter 3. Fractions

This chapter focuses on fractions. A large topic with many examples and assignments to get a good understanding
about why it is sometimes much easier to calculate with fractions instead of decimal numbers.

Chapter 4. Percentages

In this chapter you will learn what percentages are and how they are applied in daily life. Aside from using percentages to perform calculations and indicate portions of numbers, they can also be
rewritten as decimal numbers or fractions. Therefore this chapter reconnects to the previous chapters and brings together many of the previous subjects.

These four subjects are essential for creating a strong mathematical foundation.
